Delta @ 35: Esewezie Salutes Deltans, Applauds Oborevwori’s Leadership

The Executive Chairman of Oshimili North Local Government Area, Hon. Innocent Esewezie, has congratulated the Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, as well as the government and people of the state on the 35th anniversary of the creation of Delta State.

In a goodwill message made available to newsmen at his office on Wednesday, Esewezie described August 27, 1991, as a historic milestone in the collective journey of the people of Delta State.

He said the anniversary was an opportunity to celebrate the sacrifices, resilience and contributions of generations of Deltans who have worked tirelessly to build and advance the state.

According to him, the celebration should also inspire renewed commitment to unity, good governance and sustainable development.

“This anniversary is not only a celebration of our journey as a people, but also an opportunity to reflect on our shared achievements, the challenges we have overcome, and the greater possibilities that lie ahead.

“Delta State is richly blessed with abundant human and natural resources, but our greatest strength remains the resilience, enterprise, unity and indomitable spirit of our people.”

Esewezie particularly commended Governor Oborevwori for what he described as purposeful and people-centred leadership, noting that his administration had made significant strides in infrastructure, human capital development, economic empowerment, peace and inclusive governance.

He said these efforts were contributing to the foundation for a more prosperous Delta State.

The council chairman also reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting policies and programmes that promote good governance, sustainable development, peace, social inclusion and an improved quality of life for residents of Oshimili North.

“We will continue to work closely with the State Government and other stakeholders in advancing the development of our communities and contributing meaningfully to the growth of Delta State.”

Esewezie paid tribute to Deltans, past and present, who have contributed their time, resources, talents and lives towards the peace and development of the state.

He called on residents across the state to remain united and committed to building a Delta State that works for everyone, guided by patriotism, peace, good governance and collective responsibility.

“As we look to the future, may we continue to draw strength from our shared heritage and remain confident in the immense possibilities before us. May Delta State continue to grow from strength to strength, and may the years ahead bring greater prosperity, peace, development and opportunities to every community across the state,” he said.

“Happy 35th Anniversary to Delta State!”
