The governorship candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) in Delta State, Engr. Isaac Eshor, has unveiled an ambitious development agenda aimed at transforming Delta into an industrial and maritime powerhouse through strategic investments in infrastructure, job creation, youth empowerment, and economic diversification.
Eshor, an indigene of Ebu Kingdom in Oshimili North Local Government Area, said his aspiration to govern the state is driven by a commitment to unlock Delta’s vast economic potential and improve the quality of life for all residents.
According to him, despite the state’s abundant natural and human resources, many communities still grapple with poor infrastructure, unemployment, inadequate healthcare, environmental challenges, and limited economic opportunities.
“My aspiration to lead Delta State is driven by a sincere desire to liberate our people from the shackles of underdevelopment and unlock the enormous potential that exists in every community across the state,” Eshor said.
He pledged that, if elected in 2027, his administration would focus on delivering quality infrastructure, accessible healthcare, improved education, youth empowerment, agricultural development, industrialisation, and technological innovation.
The AAC candidate stressed that job creation and investment attraction would be at the heart of his administration, noting that development must be inclusive and reach every community, regardless of political or ethnic affiliation.
“I believe every Deltan deserves access to good roads, clean water, reliable electricity, quality healthcare, and opportunities to achieve their full potential. My government will be transparent, accountable, and people-centred,” he stated.
A major highlight of Eshor’s economic blueprint is his proposal to establish a world-class dockyard in Delta State, a project he described as a game-changer for the state’s economy.
He explained that the proposed dockyard would leverage Delta’s extensive coastline, waterways, and strategic location to position the state as a leading maritime and industrial hub in Nigeria and West Africa.
Drawing comparisons with the success of Nigerdock in Lagos, Eshor argued that Delta possesses all the natural advantages needed to become a major force in the maritime industry but has lacked the visionary leadership to harness those opportunities.
According to him, the dockyard would generate thousands of direct and indirect jobs in shipbuilding, vessel repairs, fabrication, logistics, transportation, and other marine-related industries, while attracting both local and foreign investments.
He added that the project would also provide technical and vocational training opportunities for young people, equipping them with skills needed to thrive in the maritime sector.
“Economic transformation does not happen through speeches alone. It requires deliberate investments in critical infrastructure that can stimulate growth, create jobs, and attract investors. A modern dockyard will help revive Delta’s marine economy and position the state as a destination for maritime business in West Africa,” Eshor said.
Calling on Deltans to embrace a new vision anchored on innovation, transparency, industrial growth, and inclusive governance, the governorship hopeful expressed confidence that the state can achieve greater prosperity through purposeful leadership.
“Delta State can be greater than it is today. Together, we can build a future where our youths have opportunities, our communities have development, and our economy works for everyone,” he declared.
Eshor reaffirmed his commitment to providing leadership that would transform Delta State into a model of sustainable development, economic prosperity, and industrial excellence.
