The Senior Special Adviser to the Delta State Governor on Youth Mobilisation, Hon. Chief Lucky Abuah, has extended warm felicitations to teachers across Delta State and Nigeria on the occasion of World Teachers’ Day.
Abuah described teachers as among the most important builders of society, noting that their influence goes beyond the classroom to shaping the character, discipline, knowledge and future of young people.
According to him, every successful society needs dedicated teachers who are willing to invest their time, knowledge and energy in preparing the next generation for the challenges and opportunities ahead.
“As someone whose responsibility is to mobilise and engage our youths, I understand the important role teachers play in shaping the young people we work with. Before many of our youths become professionals, leaders, entrepreneurs and responsible citizens, there is a teacher who contributed to their journey,” he said.
He acknowledged the sacrifices teachers make, including working under challenging conditions and continuing to give their best despite the demands of the profession.
Abuah therefore commended teachers for their patience, commitment and passion, stressing that their contribution to nation-building should never be taken for granted.
He encouraged teachers to continue inspiring young people to believe in themselves, acquire knowledge, develop positive values and pursue legitimate paths to success.
“The work of a teacher may not always receive immediate recognition, but its impact can last for generations. A lesson taught today can influence a life tomorrow, and a child encouraged by a teacher can go on to become a person who changes an entire community,” he added.
The Delta SSA on Youth Mobilisation wished teachers a Happy Teachers’ Day, praying for renewed strength, fulfilment and greater appreciation for their invaluable service to humanity.
He also called on young people to respect and appreciate their teachers, describing them as partners in the development of the next generation.
