Chief Matthew Adigwu has been honoured with the traditional chieftaincy title of Ebube Agu Na-Eche Agu 1 of Idumu-Ogo by His Royal Majesty, Obi Otiegede III of Idumu-Ogo Kingdom.
The conferment ceremony, held on Saturday, August 8, 2026, in Idumu-Ogo, Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State, attracted family members, friends, traditional rulers, government officials, dignitaries and well-wishers who gathered to witness the occasion.
Among those present were Chief Okwuofu, the Agwunwani 1 of Obomkpa; Hon. Ikechukwu Nwoko (JP); and the Commissioner for Science and Technology, Hon. Daniel Odinigwe.
Speaking during an interview, Adigwu expressed gratitude for the honour, describing the chieftaincy title as both a privilege and a responsibility to serve the people.
He said the recognition had further strengthened his commitment to contributing to the development and progress of the community.
Adigwu pledged to live up to the responsibilities attached to the title and assured the people of his continued support, adding that he would ensure that the confidence reposed in him by the community would not be misplaced.
A reception was later held at Idumu-Ogo Primary School to mark the occasion.Â
Also speaking, Chief Akwudiunor Goziem described Adigwu as a humble, God-fearing, supportive and community-minded individual whose character and commitment had earned him the respect and admiration of many.
He noted that Adigwu had consistently demonstrated concern for the welfare of the people and contributed to the growth and development of the community.
Furthermore, the celebrant’s brother, Engr. Emeke Adigwu, commended him for his willingness to support community initiatives and maintain a positive relationship with residents.
He described Adigwu’s contributions as a reflection of his dedication to the progress, unity and overall well-being of the community.

Engr. Emeke expressed confidence that Adigwu would continue to make valuable contributions to the community and serve as a good example to others.
