ASABA, DELTA STATE — The governorship candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) in Delta State, Engr. Isaac Eshor, has inaugurated a 40-man campaign council as political activities gather momentum ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
The inauguration, reported by Vanguard on October 8, 2026, is aimed at strengthening the party’s campaign structure and coordinating mobilisation efforts across the state.
The development was announced at a political gathering where members of the Labour Party’s State Executive Committee reportedly endorsed Eshor as their preferred candidate for the 2027 governorship election.
According to the report, Eshor will serve as chairman of the campaign council, while his deputy governorship candidate, Oromoni Lucky, will serve as vice chairman.
The AAC State Chairman, Maxwell Ogor, was named General Coordinator, while Hon. Vincent Okwuokei was appointed Campaign Director, with responsibility for coordinating the council’s activities across Delta State.
To strengthen grassroots mobilisation across the state’s three senatorial districts, Eshor also appointed Comrade Emmanuel Okorodudu as Senatorial Coordinator for Delta Central, Comrade Ngozi Onwordi for Delta North, and Comrade Sylvanus Gbenewe for Delta South.
The campaign council is expected to coordinate engagements with voters, promote the party’s programmes and expand its support base ahead of the election.
Eshor reportedly urged members of the council to remain committed, focused and united, emphasising the importance of teamwork and inclusive participation in achieving the party’s objectives.
He also encouraged directorate leaders to engage party members and supporters who were not formally included in the list of appointments, stressing that all committed stakeholders had a role to play in the campaign.
The AAC candidate highlighted people-oriented policies, economic development, youth empowerment and infrastructural renewal as priorities of his proposed administration if elected governor.
The inauguration marks another step in the AAC’s preparations for the 2027 Delta governorship contest, as political parties and candidates continue to build their structures and mobilise supporters across the state.
