Delta Government Rebuts AAC Candidate’s Criticism, Highlights Oborevwori’s Achievements

… Urges AAC Governorship Candidate to Verify Facts Before Criticizing Delta Government

The Senior Special Assistant on Media to the Delta State Governor, Mr. Ossai Ovie Success, has defended the performance of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, describing recent criticisms by the African Action Congress (AAC) governorship candidate, Engr. Isaac Eshor, as misleading and lacking factual basis.

Reacting to an interview granted by Engr. Eshor in which he criticized the administration of Governor Oborevwori, Ossai maintained that political leadership should be evaluated on measurable achievements rather than political rhetoric.

According to him, the M.O.R.E Agenda of the Oborevwori administration has continued to deliver visible projects and impactful programmes across the 25 local government areas of Delta State.

The true test of leadership is not empty criticism but tangible results. Across Delta State, the achievements of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori are visible for everyone to see, he said.

Responding to claims that the state had little to show despite huge federal allocations, Ossai argued that the governor’s developmental strides are evident in critical sectors, including infrastructure, healthcare, education and rural development.

He noted that the ongoing construction of major flyovers in Warri and its environs, Ughelli and Agbor, has significantly improved traffic flow, enhanced economic activities and reduced travel time for commuters.

The governor’s spokesman further highlighted the construction and rehabilitation of over 500 kilometres of roads across the state, including the Warri–Ode-Itsekiri Road project, Beneku Bridge, the Ughelli–Asaba dualization project and several rural access roads connecting farming communities to markets.

He also pointed to the ongoing Warri/Effurun Storm Drainage Project, describing it as a strategic investment aimed at tackling perennial flooding and protecting businesses and residential communities.

On healthcare, Ossai said the administration has embarked on the upgrading of 196 Primary Healthcare Centres to Level 2 status to provide 24-hour medical services, while also expanding access to free maternal and child healthcare as well as the Delta State Contributory Health Insurance Scheme for vulnerable residents.

Speaking on education, he said the government has recruited more teachers, renovated and equipped public schools, paid bursaries to students in tertiary institutions and introduced Information and Communication Technology (ICT) facilities in secondary schools to improve learning outcomes.

He added that several rural road projects have also been approved by the administration to open up communities for economic growth, stressing that the benefits of governance are reaching every part of the state.

Ossai urged politicians seeking elective office to engage in constructive criticism based on verified facts rather than making sweeping statements capable of misleading the public.

He emphasized that Governor Oborevwori remains focused on delivering democratic dividends to Deltans through the implementation of the M.O.R.E Agenda, adding that the administration’s performance would continue to speak louder than political propaganda.
